In ER yesterday 11/30/2013:
Vomiting, diarrhea and mostly, dehydration from not being able to keep anything down. Mostly due to phlegm. Better today on all counts. Given dehydration bagged cocktail (with a twist of Zofran for nausea and sent home).
TONSILLECTOMY NOVEMBER 2013:
Doing okay. Less painful than the blisters I had with chemo. Just sticking to very soft cold foods. Last thing you want to do it take the scab off before it's ready because it causes bleeding. Living on applesauce, scrambled eggs, jello, etc.

Okay, so let's explain the Peabody Ducks.
The following is taken from their pamplet: The Legend of the Ducks
How did the tradition begin?
It all started back in the 1930's when Frank Schutt, General Manager of The Peabody Hotel in Memphis, and a good friend, Chip Barwick, Sr., both avid sportsmen, returned from a weekend hunting trip to Arkansas. they were feeling a bit mischievous and thought that it would be quite funny to place some of their live duck decoys (it was legal for hunters to use live decoys at that time) in the beautiful but barren Peabody fountain. Three small English call ducks were selected as "guinea pigs" and the reaction was nothing short of fantastic.
Thus began the a Peabody tradition which has become famous in international hoteldom. the original ducks have long since gone, but their desendants still grace the beautiful marble fountain in the hotel lobbies of all the Peabody Hotels.
The ducks march twice daily on to the lobby fountain at 11 am and 5 pm, 365 days a year.
As I spoke to Donald (yes, that is his real name), The Duckmaster at the Peabody in Orlando, he informed me of a lot of information, one being that the buddies who put the ducks in the fountain were somewhat tipsy on Tennessee moonshine. These ducks are well cared for and are never touched by human hands with the exception of their veterinarians. They waddle down a red carpet both at 11 and 5, and with the exception of Donald's walking stick to guide them, the ducks know exactly what is expected of them. They are usually trained in 3 days. After they retire at the tender age of 5, they go live on the Peabody Farm for the care and retirement they deserve. At 5 pm they are taken to their imported black marble tiled home on the roof of the hotel, complete with fountains and all the food goodies a duckie would want. Only Donald the Duckmaster and the ducks veterinarians are allowed access to this beautiful room.
Now for the pictures:
Thank you Donald! Notice his cane. The ducks also come down the elevator and walk on a red carpet.
Action shot LOL.
Their room on the roof with imported black marble!
And the special picture. I am inside their abode, where other than Donald and the veterinarians, no human has been. For those of you who want to rush down to Orlando, the Peabody Ducks are no longer there. I was there in September and on October 1, Hyatt took over the hotel and the Peabody ducks from this hotel were retired. If you would like to see Peabody Ducks, you'll have to go to The Peabody Hotel in Memphis Tennessee!
A personal thank you to Donald. I hope your breast cancer survivor mom (who is in her 90's!) is doing well and I will never forget my lovely time spent with you and the duckies!
11/4/2013:
Now, these pictures were taken in August but I just never got to posting them. This is Isaiah and he's my neighbor and Kaylie's best bud-he walks her everyday after school! We went to the local Lowry Park Zoo and had a blast one day right before school started again.
Feeding budgies (parakeets)!
Mother and baby elephant. Mother, one baby elephant just turned one year old and the smaller one was a few weeks old!
Stingrays!
Lories!
I love how the giraffe smiles with Isaiah!
10/28/2013:
Orlando Florida.
Seed fell on the bottom of the wheelchair. these (I think) quails followed me around feeding off of it like it was a plate.
Isn't he pretty?
The above two pictures are of a marmocet (a small monkey). I cannot personally thank the person who allowed the animal on me to get the picture, as it would jeopardize their job, but they know who they are and thank you!
10/19/2013:
Here are Kaylie's babysitter's, who without them, we couldn't do these trips. Lynn is not in the picture, she is the one taking the picture. She was Kaylie's prime "keeper". Moy (on left) and Mamma Dora (on right) were her primary "lovers".
